Last Wednesday, April 26, Lyndsey and Mery from RIT NY hosted an event during an RIT basketball game. I dressed up as the RIT Tiger mascot and performed a cheer with the cheerleaders here. Also, during the game, the students made stress balls, received RIT sweatshirts, and got to have some American candy!

On Tuesday night, I met with 8 cheerleaders. I taught them a simple stunt and cheer. They already knew a dance, so they performed that on their own. I taught them how to perform the stunt to counts and music and then transition from the stunt to the cheer and the cheer to the dance. We practiced for about 2 hours. They all learned VERY quickly!

The next night (Wednesday night), we performed our routine during the basketball half-time. Everyone was extremely impressed with their classmates on the cheerleading team. They never thought that the girls here would be able to do such a routine. I also did some tumbling and they were extremely impressed with that. Then, Lyndsey and Mery had some give-aways. They threw these items into the crowd. There was so much spiRIT!!!
