On Monday, March 13, Anna Dining, a student from RIT majoring in Motion Picture Science, came to RIT Weihai. Anna is working on a VR 360 Project for RIT. She is traveling to all of the RIT campuses to shoot VR (Virtual Reality) of each campus. The videos and pictures that Anna captures will be showcased at an event in May at RIT NY's Global Village.

RIT has 5 global campuses located in the following places.

  • Weihai, China

  • Dubrovnik, Croatia

  • Zagreb, Croatia

  • Pristina, Kosovo

  • Dubai, UAE

Monday - Around 9 PM, Anna arrived at the airport in Weihai. Another student, Yummy, and I went to the airport together to pick Anna up. When we returned to the campus, we took Anna to the hotel on campus so that she could put her stuff in her room. Then, we went to the office building to meet with the students whom Anna would be interviewing the next day.

Tuesday - This day was a very busy day! The schedule for the day was set in advance. We started at 8 AM and took only a small break for lunch and for Anna to charge her equipment. In the morning, Anna filmed various sights and activities on campus. In the afternoon, a group of students and teachers went to the seaside to capture more VR footage and photos. Lastly, the RIT faculty, Michelle, Anna, and I had dinner at a restaurant by the sea. Throughout the day, I helped Anna in capturing "Behind the Scenes" videos and photos. I am no photographer, but I had a lot of fun pretending to be one for the day.

Wednesday - Anna left Weihai around 7 AM. Her next stop: Dubai!
