Today is a Chinese Holiday called Girls Day. Tomorrow is Women's Day. On this day, the girls receive many gifts from friends and family. The picture to the left is of a table set up outside the cafeteria. The boys at this table are handing out gifts to the girls on campus.
My coworkers have been very kind and bought me a suitcase. They told me that while I am here I will most likely receive many gifts and buy a lot of things that I won't be able to fit in my bags; so, they bought me this suitcase for gifts. I also received a gift from "The Party" aka the government. On girls day, the women workers receive a gift from "The Party." I think they should have Girls and Women's Holidays in America too!

The day gets even better......As I discussed in previous posts, the bathrooms here in Weihai, China are VERY different from those in the US. I refer to the toilets here as "Squat Pots." As my American friends can imagine, using these toilets has been quite the learning experience for me. However, today, I discovered a WONDERFUL thing. In the library on the 2nd floor, there is a handicapped bathroom that has a sitting toilet like in the US! I have been SAVED BY THE LIBRARY!
